P4 trip to Ulster American Folk Park
11th Dec 2022
The girls and boys in Primary 4 had a great day at the Ulster American Folk Park. They learned all about what daily life was like for a child living in rural Ireland during Victorian times. They made pancakes, collected the eggs and brought in turf for the fire. After taking care of all their farmyard chores, they rolled up their sleeves to help out with the weekly washday. Then they visited the old school to find out what school was like long ago. They experienced using slates to write on and found out that the cane was used a lot for minor punishments! They realised that school long ago wasn't as much fun as it is now!
