P5/6 Maths Week Mental Maths Games
P5 and 6 kicked off Maths Week with a Monday morning full of mental maths games. Firstly, we played a game of Follow Me using subtraction cards. We had to think of all the different ways subtract can be written or said. We were fantastic at this using terms such as deduct, find the difference between, minus, decrease and find less than throughout our game.
As we had been learning how to read and use a calendar last week, our game of Who Wants to be a Millionaire really got our brains working. We answered questions on a leap year, ordered months and decoded written dates without having to use 50:50 or Ask a Friend too much. Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the Calendar series proved to be lots of fun today in P5 and 6 with Ella being victorious and gaining points for P6. Well done to all for your enthusiasm and mental maths/ time facts recall.
